"There's a very fine line between being artistic and being a dickhead - it's like love and hate." - Peter Hook
Join the academic, writer, artist and film maker Evie Salmon on Friday 13th May for a spoken word event featuring neo-psychedelic fiction, drugged up memoir and other headspinning dispatches from the rave and acid house scenes of the 80s and 90s. Through the words of Peter Hook, Mike Benson, Bill Drummond, John King, Ivan Chtcheglov , Anonymous and others, Evie and her team of readers will explore memories of the Hacienda, the M25, ravers on the run and confessions of ecstasy eaters. The readings will be followed by a short discussion with the Golden Sun Movement artists. The evening will kick off with a live set from DJ Leo Zero.

This event hails the appointment of Evie Salmon as Idea Generation Gallery's first Creative in Residence - a year long residency which will see Evie bring us some of the most interesting, alternative events to coincide with our exhibitions. The evening also presents one of your last opportunities to catch our Golden Sun Movement exhibition, which has now been extended to run until Saturday 14th May.

"And you, forgotten, your memories ravaged by all the consternations of two hemispheres, stranded in the Red Cellars of Pali-Kao, without music and without geography, no longer setting out for the hacienda where the roots of the child and where the wine is finished off with fables from an old almanac. That's all over. You'll never see the hacienda. It doesn't exist...
The hacienda must be built." - Ivan Chtcheglov, October 1953
